Authorities in Wisconsin have uncovered a horrifying farm, with the owner claiming ignorance about the disturbing events.

A Shocking Discovery: Almost 200 Dead Goats Found on Wisconsin Farm

In a disturbing turn of events, a Wisconsin couple is now facing nearly 100 charges after authorities uncovered the remains of approximately 200 goats on their property.

Kyle Lincicum, 32, and Stephanie Lincicum, 33, have been charged with a total of 20 counts of mistreatment of animals, 20 counts of failure to provide proper food and drink for confined animals, and five counts of timely disposition of carcasses, according to the Telegraph Herald.

Additionally, they each face one count of transfer of another’s personal property and one count of theft.

According to documents cited by the Telegraph Herald, the Lincicums, who were arrested in May and recently appeared in court, claimed that all the goats died within a few days at the end of January or early February due to parasites or illness.

However, a veterinarian who visited the scene stated that the goats died from starvation and lack of water. The WKOW-TV reported that there was no flowing water for weeks.

Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gill revealed that it had been quite some time since the couple had purchased any feed, as confirmed by tracking records through feed companies.

In March, Stephanie Lincicum informed the landowner that most of the goats had died, which led to a visit from the Farm Service Agency. The agency documented 177 dead goats on the farm, as reported by the Telegraph Herald.

When police arrived at the scene, they found two goats still alive but in poor condition. Unfortunately, due to their condition, the animals had to be euthanized. WKOW reported that the goats “did not have a single ounce of fat on their bodies.”

Sheriff Gill expressed his devastation, stating, “This was brought on just by lack of taking care of them. And obviously very devastating to see that many animals just left to die.”

No feed was found on the property, and it was discovered that the Lincicums did not own the animals they were responsible for. Despite this, they allegedly sold around 265 goats during their time on the farm, earning over $37,000.

According to the Journal Sentinel, if convicted, the Lincicums could face several years behind bars.

This case has shocked authorities due to the sheer number of neglected animals involved. Sheriff Gill told the Telegraph Herald, “It’s not unusual for us to get calls about animal neglect, but nothing like this.”
