It’s the most booked destination in the United States for the holiday weekend, which spans from June 30 to July 4. Other popular domestic cities include Atlanta, New Orleans, Chicago, and New York City.
Busiest and Least Busy Days
Mark your calendars! June 29 and June 30 are expected to be the busiest days of the holiday weekend, with a whopping 3.7 million people expected to depart from U.S. airports on both days. On the other hand, the Fourth of July itself will be the least busy day, with an estimated 3.5 million people departing from airports on July 5.
Busy Airports to Watch Out For

For those opting to drive instead of fly, there’s good news too. Car rental prices have dropped significantly by 25% compared to last year. On average, you can expect to pay $47 per day for a rental car.
Lastly, let’s talk about gas prices. As of Thursday, the national average for a gallon of gas is $3.584. While this is lower than last year’s price of $4.955 per gallon, it has increased slightly from a month ago when gas was $3.540 per gallon, according to the American Automobile Association.
