NFL QB Carson Wentz under fire for hunting bear in Alaska.

Former Washington Commanders Quarterback Carson Wentz Faces Backlash for Hunting Photo

Carson Wentz, the former quarterback for the Washington Commanders, found himself in hot water after sharing a photo of himself posing next to a dead black bear during a hunting trip in Alaska. Wentz took to Instagram to express his excitement about the experience, calling it an “incredible trip” and praising the animal.

However, the post quickly drew criticism from social media users who condemned hunting as an outdated and cruel “sport.” One user commented, “This is incredibly gross. Hunting is such an outdated and ridiculous ‘sport.’ I guess because you couldn’t hack it at a real sport, you have to resort to a sport in which your opponent doesn’t have a weapon but you do. Lol. Pathetic behavior.”

Another user expressed their horror, stating, “This is plain horrific. Why would you want to do this?! This is not a sport; this is murder.”

The photo was also shared on the Wentz Bros Outdoors Instagram account, which Carson runs with his brother Zach. The account showcases their outdoor adventures and links to their Youtube page. The brothers describe themselves as “outdoor enthusiasts.”

Carson Wentz, who is currently a free agent, was released by the Commanders in February. He was a 2018 Super Bowl (LII) champion with the Philadelphia Eagles. Critics took the opportunity to not only attack his hunting hobby but also his football career and past injuries.

“Currently, that bear in his photos could be the perfect metaphor for his football career,” wrote NBC Sports writer Mike Florio, taking a jab at Wentz’s performance.
