Florida Police Union Endorses Gov. Ron DeSantis for 2024 Presidency

The Florida Police Benevolent Association, the largest police union in the state, has officially endorsed Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for the 2024 presidency. This endorsement comes as DeSantis prepares to go head-to-head with former President Donald Trump.

“The choice between the two candidates could not be clearer,”

announced FPBA President John Kazanjian on Monday. He highlighted the pressing issue of rising crime rates in cities and communities across America, emphasizing the need for strong law enforcement. Kazanjian criticized the failed experiment of defunding the police and blaming law enforcement for the country’s social problems.

The police union had previously supported Trump in the 2020 election. However, they now commend DeSantis for his efforts to bolster law enforcement in Florida and believe he will do the same for the entire nation if elected president.

During his tenure as governor, DeSantis allocated $100 million to increase the salaries of Florida’s police officers and invested $20 million in combatting fentanyl overdoses in the state.

“Governor DeSantis has made Florida a destination for all Americans to live safely and freely,”

states the organization’s press release. It further praises DeSantis as one of the most effective governors in the nation, asserting that he will continue to prioritize public safety and support law enforcement officers once he reaches the White House.

The Florida Police Benevolent Association boasts over 30,000 active members.
