An Outspoken Catholic Bishop Faces Vatican Investigation

Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, has been a vocal critic of President Biden and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He has not hesitated to express his disapproval of their actions, even going so far as to call Biden’s Catholicism “fake.”

In addition to his social media criticism, Strickland has also condemned the Biden administration as corrupt. He believes that as the government faces potential collapse, it is crucial for individuals to focus on their spiritual well-being and turn to God.

Strickland has also taken aim at Pelosi’s support for abortion, urging people to pray for her and others to turn away from what he calls the “ways of death” and embrace Jesus Christ.

Not only has Strickland criticized political figures, but he has also voiced his disagreement with Pope Francis. While acknowledging the Pope’s authority, he rejects what he perceives as attempts to undermine the Catholic faith.

Recently, Strickland participated in a eucharistic procession and prayer rally in Los Angeles to protest the inclusion of an anti-Catholic group at the Los Angeles Dodgers’ annual Pride Night game. He also spoke out against a gay pride parade where explicit displays were witnessed by children, emphasizing the need for people of faith to condemn such actions.

According to the Catholic News Agency, Pope Francis has initiated a formal investigation into Strickland and his diocese. The apostolic visitation is being led by Bishop Emeritus Gerald Kicanas of Tucson and Bishop Dennis Sullivan of Camden, N.J.

Despite the investigation, Strickland remains steadfast in his commitment to speaking the truth and inspiring other bishops to do the same.
