RFK Jr. expresses pride in Trump’s approval of him.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Embraces Unexpected Support
During a recent NewsNation town hall, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. graciously acknowledged the praise he has received from an unlikely source: former President Donald Trump. Not only has Trump shown support, but former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and podcaster Alex Jones have also expressed their approval. Kennedy, drawing inspiration from his late father’s political journey, reflected on the importance of unity and reaching across party lines.
“And, you know, my father was able to harness these populace energies,” Kennedy said. “And so, I’m proud that President Trump likes me, even though I don’t agree with him on most of these issues, because I don’t want to alienate people. I want to bring people together. I’m proud that all these people like me and that I have independent supporters and Democratic supporters.”
From the very start of his campaign, Kennedy made a commitment not to engage in personal attacks, recognizing that it does not benefit the country as a whole. He criticized other Democratic politicians for failing to engage with those who hold differing opinions.
“My purpose is to find the issues, the values that we have in common, rather than focus on the issues and the personalities that keep us all apart,” Kennedy said.
A recent YouGov poll shows that 44% of Democrats support Kennedy’s candidacy, while 37% are opposed and 19% remain undecided. He is currently competing against author Marianne Williamson and President Joe Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination. However, the Democratic National Committee has decided not to hold a primary debate involving these three candidates.
