Sweden Goes Nuclear on Green Energy

Sweden, long the darling of progressives for its climate change policies, has made a bold move in the energy sector. The Swedish parliament recently changed its language, setting a new goal for the nation’s electricity. Instead of aiming for “100% renewable” energy, Sweden now aims to become “100% fossil-free.” This change is driven by the need to meet the growing demand for electric power projected for 2040 and achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2045.

Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson believes that this shift creates the conditions for nuclear power. “We need more electricity production, we need clean electricity, and we need a stable energy system,” she stated.
