Will Smith’s child claims Jada Pinkett Smith exposed family to psychedelics.
Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith reveals his family’s psychedelic journey
In a recent appearance at the Psychedelic Science conference in Denver, Colorado, Jaden Smith, the 24-year-old actor/rapper, shared an intriguing revelation about his family. He disclosed that his mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, was the one who introduced their family to psychedelic drugs.
Jaden explained, “I think it was my mom, actually, that was really the first one to make that step for the family. It was just her for a really, really long time and then eventually it just trickled and evolved and everybody found it in their own ways.”
According to Jaden, using these drugs together as a family has had a profound impact on their relationships. He expressed, “Siblings can argue so much and fight so much, and lord knows me and my siblings have done so much of that in the past. But the level of love and empathy that I can feel for them inside of the (psychedelic) experiences and outside of the experiences has been something that’s profound and beautiful.”
He further emphasized that these psychedelic experiences have helped them break free from old patterns of thinking and resolve conflicts. Jaden said, “the (psychedelics) actually help us to open up our minds to get out of the old ways of thinking that got us into lots of these arguments and open it up so that it just releases and makes room for you to work it out and massage it out until it’s completely gone.”
Jada Pinkett Smith addresses assumptions and falsehoods
Jada Pinkett Smith, in response to speculation about her family, acknowledged that people have made assumptions. She took ownership of her participation in creating a false narrative. However, she plans to address these misconceptions extensively in her upcoming book, “Worthy,” set to be released this fall.
Exploring alternative methods for mental health
This is not the first time Jada Pinkett Smith has spoken about her use of alternative methods to cope with mental health issues. In 2021, she revealed on her since-canceled show, “Red Table Talk,” that she turned to “plant medicine” to combat her depression. She shared, “I was introduced to plant medicine 10 years ago to deal with my depression, and it knocked it out.”
Jaden also opened up about his own experience with psychedelics during the same show. He tried mushrooms out of curiosity and had a transformative experience. He described it as a moment of ego dissolution, where he learned about the power of the mind and the impact of ego on one’s perception of self.
It’s clear that the Smith family has embraced a unique approach to personal growth and mental well-being. Their openness to exploring unconventional methods has allowed them to deepen their understanding of themselves and each other.
