Public outraged over police search for driver responsible for tire marks on ‘Pride’ crosswalk.

The Police in Kirkland, Washington, Are on a Mission to Catch a Dangerous Criminal

The police in Kirkland, Washington, seem to have a lot of time on their hands. Despite being a suburb of Seattle with a population of over 92,000, they are dedicating significant attention and resources to catch a criminal who committed a seemingly minor offense. So, what did this dangerous criminal do? Rob a bank? Sell drugs? No, they simply did a burnout in their SUV on the city’s pride-flag crosswalk.

The Kirkland Police Department (KPD) is now seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual(s) responsible for this act of vandalism. The incident was captured on surveillance, and the vehicle involved is described as a white 2010-2022 model Toyota Sequoia with a distinctive roof rack. The police are treating this as a case of reckless driving and malicious mischief.

Check out the video of the incident:

But why is the police department putting so much effort into this relatively minor offense? It’s not like Kirkland is experiencing a crime wave. In fact, there have been no other reported crimes in the city during the month of June. This has led some people to question the priorities of the police department.

Meanwhile, other incidents of vandalism, such as the defacing of Kirkland’s “MAGA Flowers,” seem to go unnoticed. The city’s official Twitter account for the flowers even mentioned that charges against some vandals were dismissed in the past.

People on social media have expressed their frustration with the police department’s focus on this particular offense:

It’s clear that the police department’s focus on this minor offense is not sitting well with the public. While it’s important to respect public property and not engage in reckless behavior, many believe that the police should be prioritizing more serious crimes. So, Kirkland Police, maybe it’s time to reassess your priorities and focus on the issues that truly matter to the community.
