Man dies in sudden accident at popular hiking spot, leaving family helpless.

An Oregon Man’s Tragic Accident at Multnomah Falls

An Oregon man met a tragic end over the weekend while hiking with his five children near the iconic Multnomah Falls waterfall. The man, who was from Beaverton, lost his footing and fell down an embankment, plunging approximately 150 feet. The accident occurred around 2 p.m., just half a mile from a nearby bridge.

Deputy John Plock, who was at the scene, stated that the man’s children were unable to see where he landed. The accident occurred on a switchback, a section of the trail where it abruptly changes direction. Plock described the edge as steep and mentioned that it was at this point that the man slipped and fell.

A search party was quickly assembled, but locating the man proved to be challenging. Despite deploying a drone, the authorities were unable to spot him from the air. Eventually, rescuers on the ground discovered the man’s lifeless body and pronounced him dead at the scene. The entire search operation lasted approximately 45 minutes.

The man’s identity has not been released by the sheriff’s office, but it was revealed that his children ranged from elementary school to high school age. Deputy Plock expressed his condolences, stating, “Mom, dad, five kids all here enjoying a beautiful day at Multnomah Falls and unfortunately a tragic accident happened.”
