Country music star urges music industry to reintroduce God in songs, addressing industry’s fear.
Country Music Artist Chase Matthew Calls for More “God” in Country Music
County music artist Chase Matthew, known for his desire to bring “morals back to country music,” recently made a passionate plea for the industry to incorporate more “God” into its songs. During Fox News Channel’s Fourth of July celebration coverage, Matthew expressed his belief that there are many important topics that people are afraid to address.
“I’m walking proof right now and country music, we definitely need to bring back God in our songs and not run from the fact that the Lord is what built us,”
As a Nashville native, Matthew has quickly risen to become one of country music’s hottest newcomers. His first RIAA-certified gold song, “County Line,” has garnered over 360 million global streams and he consistently performs to sold-out crowds.
Matthew acknowledges that the music industry can be overwhelming and many individuals feel lost within it.
“Life is going to beat you up,” he shared with the Fox hosts.
Despite facing challenges, Matthew remains steadfast in his beliefs and proud of his roots.
“There are always people that will shun you a little bit for being proud of where you came from and holding a standard for yourself, too. I feel like I’m not here to make anybody else happy. I’m here to live my dream.”
Matthew’s journey to success has not been easy. He overcame drug addiction and homelessness before pursuing his country music career. Today, he boasts an average of 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify and recently had the honor of performing at the prestigious Grand Ole Opry.
