White House declines to deny Biden family’s connection to cocaine, avoids transparency commitment.
The Biden Administration Refuses to Comment on Cocaine Found in the White House
The Biden administration has declined to confirm whether the cocaine discovered in the White House this week belongs to President Joe Biden or his son, Hunter Biden. White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates addressed the issue during a press briefing, stating that he had no new information to share.
“This is something we take seriously,” Bates emphasized. “The law enforcement professionals in the Secret Service are investigating after this substance was discovered in a highly traveled area. We’re willing to assist in any way needed. Beyond that, I’m going to respect their process.”
A reporter raised the question of former President Donald Trump’s recent statements, where he suggested that the drugs could belong to either the president, his son, or special counsel Jack Smith.
“Trump has made some pretty wild posts recently on social media,” the reporter pointed out. “One of them was that the cocaine found in the White House had belonged to either the President or his son.”
The reporter then asked Bates if he could confirm that the drugs did not belong to the Bidens.

“I don’t have a response to that because we have to be careful about the Hatch Act,” Bates replied. “What I will say is that I have noticed there does seem to be some increasing frustration coming from that corner in general.”
During the gaggle on Air Force One, Bates was asked if the Secret Service and White House would commit to transparency in disclosing details of their investigation into the origin of the cocaine.
“I’m going to defer to the Secret Service professionals who are carrying this out,” Bates stated. “I’m just not going to engage in hypotheticals about it. I would suggest you contact them for anything more.”
