American-Israeli Energy Expert Accuses DOJ of Targeting Him to Protect President Joe Biden

American-Israeli energy expert Gal Luft has made a startling accusation against the Department of Justice (DOJ), claiming that they maliciously targeted him in order to protect President Joe Biden. In a video statement obtained by the New York Post, Luft revealed that he had provided evidence of Biden family corruption to the FBI and DOJ back in 2019, before Biden announced his run for the White House. However, he heard nothing from the DOJ until he was arrested earlier this year on charges of illegal arms trading, acting as an unregistered foreign agent, and lying to the FBI.

Luft has been dubbed the “missing witness” in the House Republicans’ investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings. House investigators have been unable to locate him to request his testimony to Congress. Luft, who spends most of his time in Israel, had offered to meet with the DOJ in 2019 to hand over evidence and information regarding Hunter Biden’s dealings with CEFC, a now-defunct Chinese energy company. Luft had advised the company for four years while Hunter and the company were working together.

Luft revealed that he met with a six-person team from the DOJ and FBI in Brussels in March of that year. The team included two DOJ prosecutors from the Southern District of New York, Daniel Richenthal and Catherine Ghosh, as well as Special Agent Joshua Wilson of the Baltimore field office. Wilson’s signature would later appear on the subpoena authorizing the FBI to confiscate Hunter’s laptop from a Delaware computer repair store.

In addition to Hunter’s dealings with CEFC, Luft informed the DOJ about a mole close to the FBI who was allegedly informing the Biden family about the agency’s activities. Luft learned about this mole from CEFC executives, who described him as having a distinctive physical appearance related to his nickname, “One-Eye.”

However, instead of receiving appreciation for his whistleblowing, Luft claims that he became public enemy number one. He and his family, friends, and associates have faced harassment and intimidation over the past four years. Luft is now calling on the DOJ to release his indictment and the evidence against him to the public, as he faces a potential 100-year prison sentence if convicted. He vehemently denies the charges.

Luft was arrested in Cyprus in February and was awaiting possible extradition to the U.S. However, he managed to escape and is currently in hiding from U.S. authorities in an undisclosed location. While detained in Cyprus, Luft was portrayed in the international media as an arms dealer, despite never having traded a bullet in his life. He points out that the DOJ’s indictment does not claim or present any evidence of him buying, selling, shipping, or financing weapons.

Luft also faces charges under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) for ghost-writing an article published in a Chinese newspaper under former CIA head James Woolsey’s name. The indictment alleges that Luft caused a $6,000 payment from CEFC to Woolsey for the article. However, Luft argues that the DOJ fails to mention that Woolsey had been an advisor to his think tank since 2002 and that the article did not represent a Chinese interest. He believes that the charge is an insult to the intelligence community and every American.

Luft questions why the FBI has not submitted the minutes from the Brussels meeting to Congress, suggesting that they may be trying to protect something or someone. He has decided to speak out now, after years of silence, because he does not believe he will receive a fair trial in New York. He claims that the prosecutor who is now after him, Daniel Reichenthal, previously stated that mentioning the name Biden would add a political dimension to the case, which the judge agreed to. This means that if Luft is brought before a U.S. court, he would not be allowed to mention Brussels or Biden, effectively hiding the true context of his arrest and his role as patient-zero in the Biden family investigation from the jury.
