MSNBC Host Katie Phang Reveals Her Fear of Ron DeSantis

During a recent episode of “All In With Chris Hayes,” MSNBC host Katie Phang expressed her concerns about the Republican Party primary, specifically highlighting her fear of Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida. Phang boldly referred to DeSantis as “a leaner, meaner Donald Trump,” emphasizing the similarities between the two.

As the race for the GOP presidential nomination heats up, Trump and DeSantis have emerged as the top contenders. According to the latest polls, Trump holds a commanding lead with 53% support, while DeSantis trails behind at 20.9%.

Phang, known for her left-leaning views, made these remarks while filling in for Chris Hayes on the popular MSNBC show. Despite being urged to move on, she passionately stated, “I still don’t want a Ron DeSantis. I’ll take a Donald Trump over a Ron DeSantis any day.” Phang firmly believes that DeSantis embodies the same qualities as Trump, but in a more refined and calculated manner.

Phang’s comments come on the heels of a video shared by the DeSantis War Room account, showcasing various left-wing commentators and political experts expressing their belief that DeSantis poses a greater threat to the political Left than Trump.

The video, which lasts three and a half minutes, features several quotes from prominent left-wing figures, including:

• “If Trump was the original Terminator, DeSantis is like the T-1000.”
• “Ron DeSantis is far more dangerous than Donald Trump. He’s more savvy, he’s more coy, and he doesn’t have the pitfalls that Donald Trump does.”
• “Ron DeSantis is far more dangerous than Donald Trump. … He’s smarter than Donald Trump. He’s far more strategic.”
• “Many of Donald Trump’s failings were from just kind of not paying attention. Ron DeSantis, on the other hand, is far less likely to be ineffective.”
• “If Donald Trump becomes president again, he’ll be less dangerous than Ron DeSantis.”
• “As horrible and grotesque as he is, Donald Trump is not as dangerous as this guy, Ron DeSantis.”
