Youngkin initiates GOP early voting drive in Virginia.
Gov. Glenn Youngkin Encourages Republican Voters to Utilize Early Voting and Vote-by-Mail
Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) has launched an exciting new initiative to empower Republican voters in Virginia to take advantage of early voting and vote-by-mail options for the upcoming elections. In a captivating video introducing the online portal “Secure Your Vote Virginia,” Youngkin passionately urges GOP voters to embrace these convenient voting methods, ensuring they don’t fall behind by “thousands of votes.”
“We’re making Virginia the best place to live, work, and raise a family, and to take us to the next level, I need your early vote this year. We can’t go into the elections down thousands of votes. And you can secure your vote before Election Day,”
The user-friendly online portal provides Republican voters with step-by-step instructions on how to sign up for the absentee ballot list, as well as information on when and where to vote early. It also includes essential dates and other relevant details to ensure a smooth voting experience.
“Republicans got to stop sitting on the sidelines and allowing the Democrats to do a better job of voting early. I’m tired of us going into elections down thousands of votes. And so SecureYourVoteVirginia.com provides an easy way to make a plan to vote early, to get on the permanent absentee ballot, to vote early by mail or make a plan to vote early,”
Youngkin emphasized the critical nature of these elections and urged Republican voters to take action through SecureYourVoteVirginia.com. He believes it’s time for Republicans to stand up and ensure their voices are heard by making their votes count.
After previous discouragement from GOP leaders, including former President Donald Trump, regarding early voting and mail-in ballots, the Republican Party has shifted its stance and is now embracing alternative forms of casting a ballot. Last month, the Republican National Committee launched the “Bank Your Vote” campaign, aimed at raising awareness about early voting options.
The 2023 elections in Virginia will determine the seats in both the state House of Delegates and state Senate. Currently, Republicans hold a 52-48 majority in the House of Delegates, while Democrats hold a 22-18 majority in the Virginia Senate. Youngkin’s focus on education played a significant role in Republicans regaining control of the House of Delegates in 2021. During that election, the GOP also secured victories in the governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general races.
Youngkin’s endorsement power was evident as all 19 candidates he supported in the GOP primaries last month emerged victorious. He is now looking to ride that wave of success into the general election in November.
