The hosts of The View engaged in a lively discussion about a recent report revealing President Joe Biden’s alleged short temper and tendency to lash out at officials within his administration. Rather than condemning his behavior, they offered a different perspective.
“Imagine waking up being President Biden,” exclaimed host Sara Haines. “You’re too old, the economy sucks, the border’s open, and your son’s a mess. What about that grandchild you don’t claim? He broke royal protocol with King Charles. Every way he turns, it seems like he’s doing something wrong. But he is allowed to get mad.”
Fellow host Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, excusing Biden’s reported anger by stating, “He’s just a regular guy.” Goldberg also refuted host Joy Behar’s claim that Biden is “a mild-mannered sweet guy,” revealing that Biden has “dropped more f-bombs than I have.”
The report, released on Monday, shed light on the president’s frequent and indiscriminate interrogations of his staff, which have earned nicknames like “stump the chump” or “stump the dummy.” This aspect of Biden’s personality remains relatively unknown to the public, but some of his aides believe that showcasing this side of him could counter criticisms of his age and perceived lack of control in the White House.
Biden’s reported anger outbursts come at a crucial time as he gears up for reelection in 2024. The View host Alyssa Farah Griffin described a potential rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump as “the rematch from hell” and expressed a desire for an inspiring and hopeful alternative.
These behind-the-scenes accounts of Biden’s anger shed light on incidents in public that seemed out of character for the president. In January 2022, a microphone captured Biden referring to Fox News’s Peter Doocy as a “stupid son of a b****” after being questioned about inflation.
