In a recent Twitter exchange, Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas took a jab at Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom after he claimed that Republicans should be “on their heels.”
Newsom has been targeting Republican leaders like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Huckabee Sanders, as his state has experienced a significant exodus of citizens in recent years.
During a recent interview with MSNBC’s Jen Psaki, Newsom admitted that he can’t stop watching conservative media, including Fox News, which he believes contributes to the mental health crisis in California.
Responding to Newsom’s comments, Huckabee Sanders took to Twitter to highlight the successes of her state and her leadership, all while wearing “heels.”
She shared a video that featured Newsom’s remarks about the GOP, along with a pop-up of comedian Tim Robinson and the viral line, “You sure about that?”

The video then showcased Huckabee Sanders walking in high heels, while pointing out that California has lost 500,000 residents in two years, according to the Los Angeles Times. It also highlighted Arkansas as a popular destination for people relocating from other states.
Huckabee Sanders emphasized her state’s record low unemployment rate and the fact that residents are keeping more of their money due to low taxes.
Newsom did not respond to the video, but it gained attention when it was played on Fox News and discussed by Kellyanne Conway.

According to reports, California has experienced a significant loss of residents, with a record 407,000 leaving between July 2021 and July 2022. The San Francisco Bay Area alone lost approximately 34,000 residents from 2022 to 2023.
