Formerly unidentified IRS whistleblower to testify in Biden House probe.
IRS Whistleblowers to Testify on Alleged Biden Family Financial Dealings
Get ready for some explosive revelations! Two IRS whistleblowers are set to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability next week. They will shed light on the alleged financial dealings of the Biden family and the misconduct within federal agencies regarding investigations into Hunter Biden.
Gary Shapley, an IRS supervisory special agent, bravely revealed himself as one of the whistleblowers back in May. The other witness, known as Whistleblower X, is a criminal investigator with the IRS.
The highly anticipated hearing is scheduled for July 19 and will be open to the public and press. You can also catch the livestream online.
Both whistleblowers have provided compelling documents that suggest the investigations into the Biden family were deliberately hindered. Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in this matter.
“Since taking the gavel in January, the Committee on Oversight and Accountability has made rapid progress in our investigation into the Biden family’s domestic and international business dealings to determine whether these activities compromise U.S. national security and President [Joe] Biden’s ability to lead with impartiality,” he stated.
According to Mr. Comer, the Biden family set up over 20 shell companies, engaged in complex financial transactions with foreign adversaries, and made significant efforts to conceal payments and avoid scrutiny.
The House Ways and Means Committee has also been investigating the alleged financial dealings of the Bidens. Last month, they released transcripts of 14 hours of testimony, revealing that Hunter Biden had received over $17 million from Ukraine, China, and Russia.
“Additionally, these whistleblowers provided information about how the Justice Department refused to follow evidence that implicated Joe Biden, tipped off Hunter Biden’s attorneys, allowed the clock to run out with respect to certain charges, and put Hunter Biden on the path to a sweetheart plea deal,” Mr. Comer stated. “Americans are rightfully angry about this two-tiered system of justice that seemingly allows the Biden family to operate above the law.”
Interference?
During their testimony to the House Ways and Means Committee, the whistleblowers revealed that the Justice Department and IRS employed various tactics to delay investigations into Hunter Biden’s tax fraud. These tactics included denying requests to bring charges, allowing the statute of limitations to expire, and sharing sensitive information with Hunter Biden’s attorneys.
You can view the transcript from the first whistleblower, Mr. Shapley, here. The testimony from the second whistleblower can be viewed here. These testimonies were initially given in a closed-door hearing and were made public after a vote. It’s worth noting that all Democrats on the committee voted against their release.
Unfortunately, the whistleblowers faced immediate retaliation after coming forward. They were passed over for promotions and removed from the investigation into the president’s son.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has denied claims of interference by federal agencies in the investigation.
U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was mentioned in the testimonies, also refuted claims that he was denied authority to bring charges.
During a press conference following the House Ways and Means Committee hearing, Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.) expressed his concern about the unequal treatment of taxpayers. He highlighted how Hunter Biden received a mere “slap on the wrist” and “soft glove treatment” despite the mounting evidence against him.
In one instance, Hunter Biden’s attorneys were tipped off about the IRS’s knowledge of documents stored in a Northern Virginia storage unit, giving them the opportunity to remove the documents before they could be seized.
In another case, investigators authenticated WeChat messages in which Hunter Biden demanded payment from Chinese business partners, leveraging his father’s name and position.
FBI’s 2-Day Interview With Alleged Whistleblower
On July 12, Committee Chairman James Comer requested that the FBI share an unredacted copy of the report from a two-day interview in 2019 with Gal Luft, another alleged whistleblower in the investigations into the Biden family.
