Drag queens discuss Matt Walsh’s question, “What is a woman?” on Tim Pool’s show.
A Fiery Debate: Drag Performers Discuss the Definition of Woman and Drag Queen Story Hours
In a recent episode of Tim Pool’s “Culture War” podcast, two drag performers engaged in a heated debate over the definition of woman and the appropriateness of drag queen story hours at public libraries for children.
Maebe A. Girl, the first drag queen elected to a public office, passionately defended drag for kids against Kitty “Hogatha” DeMure, who has been vocal about the potential dangers of exposing children to drag.
The discussion reached its boiling point when Pool posed the question, “What Is A Woman?” This question, popularized in The Daily Wire’s groundbreaking documentary, left Girl equivocating while DeMure dropped a mic.

Girl argued that the concept of man and woman is not limited to a binary perspective, emphasizing the expansive nature of gender identity. She believed that individuals should have the freedom to define their own identities, and that rigid definitions of womanhood can be transphobic.
When pressed to define “female,” Girl suggested that it transcends the binary construct imposed by society. However, DeMure countered by stating that drag queens, who tuck their penises, can provide a clear definition of a woman as someone without a penis.
The debate also extended to the topic of drag queen story hours at libraries. DeMure expressed his belief that these events are inappropriate for children, suggesting that parents should be the ones reading to their kids. Girl, on the other hand, defended the drag community, stating that not all drag shows are held in nightclubs and that appropriate interactions can be curated for specific situations.
While Girl acknowledged that some performers have crossed boundaries at drag queen story hours, she argued that the majority of books read are age-appropriate. DeMure, however, criticized the lack of oversight and management within the LGBTQ community regarding these events.
The debate between these two drag performers highlighted the complexities surrounding gender identity and the ongoing discussion about the appropriateness of drag queen story hours for children.
