Kamala Harris’s week of errors persists with plea to ‘decrease population’.

Vice President Kamala Harris Calls for Population Reduction to Improve Air and Water Quality

Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprising statement during a speech on climate change, suggesting that reducing the population could lead to cleaner air and drinking water. Speaking at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland, Harris emphasized the importance of investing in clean energy and electric vehicles, but her mention of population reduction raised eyebrows.

“When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water,”

These comments about the Biden administration’s climate change agenda sparked a wave of backlash, particularly from Republican lawmakers. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) took to Twitter to question whether he was part of the population Harris wanted to reduce.

Even Twitter owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk chimed in, criticizing Harris for her unintentional misuse of the phrase.

“Reducing population is [nuts]. We need to increase population,”

This mix-up comes on the heels of Harris’s previous gaffes, including her explanation of transportation at an event hosted by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. During the event, Harris attempted to highlight the importance of accessible transportation for all individuals, but her focus on airplane restrooms drew ridicule.

“This issue of transportation is fundamentally about just making sure that people have the ability to get where they need to go. It’s that basic.”

Harris also faced criticism for her attempt to explain Artificial Intelligence during a meeting with labor union and civil rights leaders. While discussing the topic, Harris stumbled over her words, describing AI as a “fancy thing” and emphasizing its connection to machine learning.

“I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing. First of all, it’s two letters. It means artificial intelligence, but ultimately what it is, is it’s about machine learning.”

These recent incidents have raised concerns about Harris’s ability to effectively communicate complex topics and have led to further scrutiny of her statements.
