Kamala Harris’s verbal slip-up on ‘Reduce Population’ sparks outrage.
Kamala Harris Mistakenly Claims Biden Administration is Investing to Reduce U.S. Population
Vice President Kamala Harris made a verbal slip-up while speaking in Maryland, suggesting that the Biden administration is investing to reduce the U.S. population in order to provide cleaner air and drinking water to Americans.
Addressing Mr. Biden’s climate change agenda at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Ms. Harris stated, “When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water.”
The White House later corrected her error in the official transcript, replacing “population” with “pollution” to clarify her intended meaning.
Ms. Harris was speaking at the event to discuss the Environmental Protection Agency’s $20 billion investment program aimed at promoting clean energy investments across the country.
After clips of her statement circulated online, social media users and Republican figures seized on the opportunity to suggest that the Biden administration was advocating for a reduction in the U.S. population.

Responding to Ms. Harris’ slip-up, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) questioned what she meant by reducing the population and suggested options such as abortion or assisted suicide.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) also expressed concern, asking his followers if they were the population Ms. Harris wanted to reduce.
Ohio state Sen. Michael Rull criticized Ms. Harris, stating, “Kamala Harris admits she wants to reduce the population for environmental reasons. That’s not just anti-American. That’s anti-human.”

According to national polling data by FiveThirtyEight on July 13, Ms. Harris had a disapproval rating of 51.3 percent, with 39 percent of registered voters having a positive view of her.
Last month, her approval ratings remained lower than those of many of her predecessors.
