DeSantis talks about his second place to Trump in GOP primary race.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Unfazed by ‌Poll Numbers

Florida ⁣Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) remains‌ undeterred by⁣ recent polls showing him trailing ‍behind⁢ former⁤ President ⁣Donald‌ Trump ‌in⁢ the ‌race for ‌the Republican Party’s 2024‌ nomination for ‍president. ‌Despite data indicating that‍ Trump‌ has double the ‌support⁤ of ⁢DeSantis,‍ the governor ⁣dismisses ⁤concerns about his current position in the polls.

“I‍ think the good thing about it ⁢is⁢ Republican primary voters ⁤are ⁣very smart,” ⁣said⁣ DeSantis during ⁤an ⁢interview on Fox News’s‌ Media Buzz.⁤ “They know⁢ where ⁣these corporate outlets ⁣stand ⁣on the political⁣ spectrum,⁤ and‍ so⁢ the extent⁤ that they become convinced that the⁤ media does ⁣not want me to⁤ be the nominee above‍ all else, that⁣ will, in ⁤the long ⁣run, ‌absolutely help⁤ me.”

Media Bias and DeSantis’ Confidence

DeSantis believes‌ that the⁢ media’s opposition to his nomination, rather than Trump’s, stems from⁣ their recognition of his ‍ability to‌ defeat ⁤President⁢ Joe Biden.⁢ He⁣ points ⁢to his ‌successful track‍ record ‍in Florida, where the Republican ‌Party has ⁤triumphed over the Left on ‍various issues ⁢such as ‌illegal⁢ immigration and education.

“We’ve done all these great ⁢things, and now Florida, even‍ CNBC is acknowledging we’re ⁣the top economy of all 50 ‍states, and‌ so ‌I think they see me⁣ as somebody who will actually enact some‍ of these bold things ⁣as‌ president,” said ⁢DeSantis.⁤ “Of ‍course, they‌ don’t⁤ want that. The⁤ corporate‌ press wants the status quo.”

DeSantis ⁢and Trump’s Presidential ‍Ambitions

Both DeSantis⁤ and Trump are vying ⁢for ‌the Republican‌ Party’s 2024 nomination ‍for president,⁣ with both candidates ‍considered strong ‌contenders.⁣ Other notable Republican candidates in the race ‌include Sen. Tim Scott‍ (R-SC), ⁣former⁢ South‌ Carolina Gov. Nikki⁣ Haley, and former ⁢New‍ Jersey Gov. ‌Chris Christie.

When asked about‌ his attendance at the ⁢first‌ Republican‍ presidential candidate debate next month, DeSantis confidently⁢ stated, ”I’m ‌gonna ‍be at the⁣ debates.”⁤ In contrast, Trump⁢ has yet to decide if he‍ will⁣ participate, citing⁤ his substantial‌ lead in⁢ the polls ‌as a‌ reason to potentially‍ forgo the debate.

Voters’ Doubts about Biden and Trump

A⁢ recent⁤ poll ⁣conducted‍ from July⁢ 8-11 revealed‌ that a⁤ majority ⁤of⁢ voters ‌have reservations about President Joe Biden ‌and ⁤Donald‍ Trump ⁣as the strongest candidates‍ for ⁤their respective parties in⁢ 2024. Among⁣ Trump 2020⁤ voters, ‍84% expressed doubt that Biden ⁣is the ⁣strongest ⁢candidate ⁢for‌ the Democrats, ⁣while 76% of Biden 2020 voters⁢ were skeptical of Trump’s⁣ strength⁢ as⁣ the Republican⁤ nominee.
