Former President Donald Trump’s “War Room” Team Criticizes Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Polling Numbers
The team behind former President Donald Trump’s “War Room” took aim at Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for his recent polling numbers. This came after DeSantis admitted that his trump-team-blasts-desantis-for-admitting-post-midterm-polling-was-only-a-sugar-high/” title=”Trump team criticizes DeSantis for acknowledging post-midterm polling as a mere ‘sugar-high’.”>strong post-midterm results were merely a ”sugar-high.”
“I had gotten a lot of coverage in the aftermath of the midterm election; we always knew with these national polls that that was a sugar-high,”
DeSantis revealed this during an interview with Howard Kurtz on Fox News Channel’s Mediabuzz. The Florida governor’s comments didn’t go unnoticed by Trump’s team, who promptly took to Twitter to express their disapproval.
“Ron DeSanctimonious admits his post-midterm polling was only a ‘sugar high.’ Welcome back to reality!”
During the interview, DeSantis also downplayed the significance of national polls, stating that they weren’t a major concern for him. However, the polls clearly show Trump’s significant lead over other GOP presidential candidates. According to a RealClearPolitics analysis, Trump leads in all recent polls, with an average of 53%. In comparison, DeSantis trails behind at 20.6%, a 32.4% difference.
Meanwhile, other GOP candidates like former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy are polling in the single digits and have yet to make a breakthrough.
DeSantis has acknowledged that the 2024 election will be an uphill battle, but he remains determined to earn his place in the race.
