Trump celebrates victory in Turning Point Action straw poll.
Former President Donald Trump Dominates Turning Point Action Conference Straw Poll
Former President Donald Trump wasted no time in celebrating his victory at the Turning Point Action Conference’s 2024 primary straw poll. Taking to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump proudly announced, “Just heard that I (WE!) won the big Turning Point Straw Poll in a BLOWOUT, getting 85.7% of the Vote.”
Trump Emerges as the Clear Favorite
The Washington Examiner reports that an overwhelming majority of conference attendees, 85.7% to be exact, chose Trump as the GOP’s next standard-bearer. Following Trump were businessman Perry Johnson with 7.8% support and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) with 4.3% support.
When it came to the attendees’ second preference, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy emerged as the top contender, receiving 51.2% support. Trump secured 21.4% support, while DeSantis garnered 13.5%.
Trump, the frontrunner for the GOP’s 2024 nomination, didn’t miss the opportunity to criticize DeSantis and other rivals. “Ron DeSanctimonious came in a solid 3rd with 4.3%, Vivek got 2%, and Sloppy Chris Christie, as usual, got a big, fat, ZERO! Turning Point put on a GREAT event in West Palm Beach, setting all kinds of records, including in attendance!” the former president exclaimed.
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie received minimal support in both the first and second presidential preference categories during the straw poll.
