Brian Kemp comments on Trump and DeSantis in 2024 GOP race.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp Hints at Presidential Run
In a recent interview, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp sparked speculation about his potential entry into the GOP presidential primary. While he initially stated that he is “certainly not running for president,” he quickly added that there are always opportunities in politics, depending on how things unfold.
When asked about the possibility of defeating former President Donald Trump, Kemp acknowledged that the race is currently at a standstill. However, he expressed skepticism towards current national primary polls, taking them with “a grain of salt.”
Kemp emphasized that there is still a long way to go in the race, comparing it to the upcoming dog days of August. He also shared his thoughts on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, praising his campaign’s efforts and their commitment to the long haul.
While Kemp affirmed his support for the eventual GOP nominee, he stressed the importance of focusing on the future rather than dwelling on the past. He believes that Trump could win Georgia in a general election due to President Biden’s unpopularity and perceived failures. However, Kemp cautioned that if Trump continues to focus on the 2020 election, he risks losing the 2024 presidential election.
Looking ahead, Kemp highlighted the American people’s desire to know how candidates will address their concerns and counteract what he considers to be the negative policies of the Biden administration.

Trump pressured him to overturn the election, call a special session (even though he couldn’t), said he was ashamed he’d ever endorsed him and blasted him as ”hapless.” But Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp says he’ll still work to get the GOP nominee elected, even if it’s Trump. pic.twitter.com/A1LYYMbM9n
