The book also profiles influential figures who have played a role in instilling these ideologies in America, including Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, and Derrick Bell. Rufo also examines left-wing groups like the Weather Underground, Black Panther Party, and Black Liberation Army.
Rufo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, gained national attention for exposing the depths of Critical Race Theory (CRT) within our federal agencies and education system. He called on then-President Trump to take action against CRT, which led to an executive order banning it from federal agencies and racial trainings on so-called white privilege.
“Critical race theory has become, in essence, the default ideology of the federal bureaucracy and is now being weaponized against the American people,” Rufo said.
