Kemp: Georgia Trump election probe distracts from Biden’s shortcomings.

Gov. Brian Kemp ‍Slams Georgia Investigation‌ as⁣ a “Distraction” from Biden’s Record

Gov. ‌Brian‍ Kemp (R-GA) has criticized⁤ the‍ ongoing⁤ investigation into former ⁤President⁣ Donald Trump’s ⁤alleged tampering of the 2020‍ presidential election⁣ results, calling it a‌ mere⁤ “distraction” from the Biden ‍administration’s ‌record. In a ‍recent⁣ interview on‌ Fox News, Kemp ⁣emphasized the need to⁤ focus ⁢on pressing ⁤issues⁢ such as‍ the border crisis and the disastrous pullout ‍from Afghanistan.

Republicans Express⁢ Concern⁤ Over DOE Gas⁣ Stove Proposal

Kemp further highlighted ⁤the⁢ impact‍ of⁢ Biden’s policies on the⁣ economy, ‌stating that the middle ⁤class is ‍suffering from skyrocketing ⁢inflation, grocery prices,⁣ and energy costs. ⁣He questioned the effectiveness of⁣ Biden’s approach to “building the economy from the ‌middle ⁢out‍ and‌ the⁣ bottom ⁣up,” ⁣suggesting that it ⁤is only draining ⁣people’s wallets.

Last year, Kemp testified before a ⁣grand jury convened‍ by⁣ Fulton⁣ County⁢ District ⁣Attorney Fani Willis. While this‌ grand jury ⁢did⁣ not⁤ have⁣ the ⁢power ‍to ⁣issue indictments, ⁣their ‍nine-page report released⁣ in⁢ February⁢ concluded that there was‌ no widespread ⁣fraud in‌ the‌ Georgia‍ 2020 presidential election ⁢that could ⁣have overturned⁤ the ⁤results.

Regarding ⁤Willis’s investigation‌ into Trump,⁣ Kemp ⁤expressed⁣ uncertainty about the potential indictments‌ and ⁤the timeline set by ⁣the district attorney. He acknowledged the possibility⁢ of⁢ multiple individuals facing ‍charges but ⁣admitted to‍ lacking insight‍ into the‍ inner ‍workings of‌ the⁤ investigation.

Willis initiated the investigation‍ in February‌ 2021, specifically ⁢examining‍ allegations⁣ against Trump ⁤and⁢ his Republican ⁤allies for their‍ attempts to overturn⁣ the 2020 election.⁣ The focus of the investigation ⁢centers around⁣ Trump’s⁤ hourlong⁤ phone conversation‍ with Georgia⁤ Secretary‌ of State Brad⁤ Raffensperger, during ⁤which he urged Raffensperger ‌to ‌”find 11,780 votes.”

Recently, ‍a new set of grand⁤ jurors were ‍sworn ⁣in for ⁤the investigation, potentially playing a crucial role ‍in determining⁤ whether ⁢indictments will⁢ be‌ issued,⁢ with a possible announcement expected ‍in ⁤August.

Kemp ⁢has intensified his criticism ⁤of Biden’s ‌economic policies, highlighting the ⁣administration’s spending⁣ record and ‍the state ‌of⁣ the national economy. ⁣He pointed ⁣out the ‌significant increase in housing‌ costs⁢ due ‍to rising interest rates,⁤ emphasizing the need ⁤to address ⁣these⁢ issues rather ⁤than getting caught up in what⁤ he referred to ‍as‌ “Bidenomics.”
