IRS whistleblower claims DOJ ready to retaliate over Hunter Biden probe.

The Whistleblower X ‌Testimony: Shedding‌ Light on⁢ Corruption

The opening statement for ⁢“Whistleblower ‍X,” ⁤an unidentified special⁣ agent with the‍ IRS’s⁢ criminal ‍investigations‌ division,‍ has been released ahead⁢ of his ‍Wednesday ‌afternoon ⁤testimony before ⁤House⁣ lawmakers.

Whistleblower⁢ X and Gary Shapley,⁣ who‍ worked as an IRS ⁤supervisory‍ agent on the‌ agency’s investigation into Hunter Biden’s tax affairs, will ⁣testify ‍before the House Committee⁣ on ‍Oversight ⁤and Accountability⁤ on Wednesday‌ at ⁢around ⁤1:00 p.m.

“I have ⁣witnessed the corrosion⁣ of ethical standards and the abuse ⁤of power⁤ that threaten ⁢our nation. It is within ‌this context‍ that I‍ have ⁢chosen to shed light on ⁣these⁤ actions and expose those ⁢responsible.⁣ I recognize ⁢that while I was ⁢present⁢ at ⁢the start of⁣ this‌ investigation and was closely‍ involved ⁢with‌ the investigation for roughly ‍five years‍ —  that‌ I am‍ just a part of the story,” the ⁢planned ⁤opening statement⁤ from⁢ the whistleblower ⁤says.⁢ “My‍ aim ⁤is to address systemic⁣ problems that ‌have allowed‌ misconduct ‍to flourish. It‍ is not ‍a‌ call ⁢for ⁢blame ⁢but a⁤ call ⁣for accountability⁤ and reform.”

The identity⁤ of ⁣Whistleblower ‍X⁢ will be revealed during the⁣ testimony,‍ where ⁢both whistleblowers‌ are expected ⁢to discuss ‌investigations ⁢into⁢ the Biden⁣ family’s alleged influence-peddling abroad and the ⁢treatment ⁤of⁢ Hunter⁢ by ‌the Justice ‍Department.

The whistleblower‌ added ‍that ‌he had ⁤worked at the IRS⁢ since‍ 2010, ⁤saying ⁣he was⁣ “risking his career”‍ by coming forward.

“I ‌believe⁢ that the Delaware USAO ⁤and DOJ-Tax ‍have a‌ clear⁣ target on me and ⁢my supervisors back⁢ and I believe⁢ that they⁣ are just waiting for an ⁤opportunity ⁢to ⁣pounce⁢ on us.⁤ My own‍ agency ⁣retaliated against me ⁢and ‌threatened me with criminal conduct in response ⁣to⁢ an ⁤internal ‍email I‌ sent ‌to⁤ IRS‍ leadership, even ⁣after ‌years⁤ of essentially ⁢being left on‌ an ⁣island when it came⁤ to this⁤ investigation,” he wrote.

He ⁢also disputed several‌ statements made⁤ by ‍U.S.⁤ Attorney David ⁤Weiss, who is in‌ charge of ⁤the Hunter prosecution ‌case, saying ⁤that ⁤Hunter ⁣should ‍face more‌ serious⁢ criminal ‍charges

“If⁣ the Delaware U.S. Attorney ⁢David Weiss followed DOJ policy ‌as he ⁢stated in his most ⁢recent‍ letter,⁢ Hunter ‌Biden should have been charged with a ‌tax felony, ‍and not ⁢only ⁢the tax ‍misdemeanor ⁢charge. We⁢ need to treat each⁢ taxpayer ‌the ‌same under law,” ⁤he wrote.

The statement⁤ also⁤ expressed concerns ⁢about ⁢the⁤ investigation into Hunter⁣ being ‌conducted in Delaware ‍because of ⁢the Biden family reputation‍ in the‌ state.‍ During ‌the⁣ investigation,‍ he said several⁢ instances ⁤of probable cause were ⁢found,‍ but ⁢no⁣ search warrants were conducted. Additionally, he said that his supervisors ⁤were hesitant⁣ to interview‍ Biden family‍ members linked ⁣to the case because⁢ they ‌would get in ⁤“hot‍ water” for speaking⁣ with‌ the ⁣now-president’s ⁢grandchildren.
