FBI Arrests Teen at Airport After Discovering Disturbing ISIS Plot
Authorities have made an alarming arrest in Colorado, as a teenager is accused of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. The Department of Justice has released a statement confirming the arrest of Davin Daniel Meyer from Castle Rock, Colorado.
Meyer, who is currently under investigation by the FBI Denver Field Office and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, allegedly pledged allegiance to the leader of ISIS and expressed his intention to travel to Iraq to serve as a fighter for the terrorist group. According to the DOJ statement, Meyer was apprehended at the Denver International Airport while attempting to board a flight.

An affidavit reviewed by The Associated Press reveals that Meyer had previously been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and major depressive disorder, receiving treatment for these conditions. The document also states that Meyer communicated online with an individual claiming to be an ISIS operator, who was actually an FBI informant. Meyer expressed difficulties in finding employment that aligned with his religious practices, such as avoiding music and interactions with women.
The affidavit further discloses that Meyer had purchased a ticket to travel to Ankara, Turkey, on July 14. His plan was to meet with Islamic State members and then proceed to Iraq to join their ranks as a fighter.
The investigation into Meyer began in June 2022 and is ongoing.
