He suggested‌ that a third-party candidate would ​need to be ‌positioned to the‌ right of ⁣Trump⁣ in order to draw voters ⁢away ‍from ⁢him, rather than⁤ from Biden.

Despite not naming any specific candidates, the ⁤Quinnipiac poll has created ⁣an unprecedented opening‍ for an‌ independent ticket in the‌ 2024 elections, according to No Labels spokesperson Maryanne Martini.

When asked about the potential impact of a third-party candidate, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.)‍ suggested that Manchin⁤ would likely ⁢draw more Democratic votes. However,⁢ he also acknowledged that if the Republican candidate was Trump, there would be internal opposition ‌within the ⁢party⁤ regardless.
