All Alabama Residents to Receive SNAP Benefits in Three Days
All Alabama residents who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their benefits, scheduled to be distributed in just three days. SNAP benefits, commonly known as food stamps, are issued from the fourth through the 23rd of each month, depending on the last two digits of a beneficiary’s case number. The final round of payments for this month is set to go out on July 23.

The day individuals receive their benefits is determined by the last two digits of their case number. The release dates are organized in sets of five numbers, with each set corresponding to a specific day during the distribution period. For instance, those with case numbers ending in 00 through 04 will receive their benefits on the fourth, and this pattern continues until individuals with case numbers 95-99 receive their benefits on the 23rd.
SNAP benefits can be used to purchase a wide range of eligible items, including most foods from grocery stores, seeds, and plants that produce food. However, it’s important to note that benefits cannot be used for nonfood items, hot or prepared foods, or certain other items.
The amount of benefits a recipient receives depends on their income and household size. For a household consisting of one person, the maximum benefit is $281, while a household of five could potentially receive a maximum monthly benefit of $1,116.
The average benefit payment per household member in the Cotton State is $183. In Alabama, approximately 761,100 people, which accounts for roughly 15% of the state’s population, receive assistance paying for food through the food stamps program.
The maximum annual income allowed to be eligible for SNAP in Alabama varies based on household size. For a household of one, the maximum annual income is $18,954, while for a household of five, the maximum annual income is $45,682.
