Police are investigating a report suggesting that the Gilgo Beach Serial Killer suspect may have killed victims in his own home.
Police Suspect Gilgo Beach Serial Killer Committed Murders in His Own Home
According to a source, police investigating the Gilgo Beach serial killings are operating on the theory that the suspect committed the murders in his own home. This theory is based on the fact that the suspect’s family was out of town during the murders, suggesting he may have lured the victims to his home in Massapequa Park, New York.
Authorities are continuing to search the suspect’s home for trace evidence of the victims, as they believe killing them at his own home would have allowed him to control the environment and have easy access to the materials found with the victims at Gilgo Beach, such as tape and burlap bags.
Arrest Takes a Toll on the Suspect’s Family
The suspect’s wife filed for divorce shortly after his arrest, and her attorney, Bob Macedonio, revealed that the arrest has had a significant impact on the family. Macedonio stated, “Her and her children’s lives have been completely turned upside-down.”
After the suspect’s arrest, authorities went to his house and informed his family about the situation. They seized the family’s passports, computers, phones, and iPads. Macedonio described the family as being completely blindsided by the arrest.
Investigators have had control of the suspect’s home for the past week as they continue to search for evidence. They have reportedly recovered hundreds of guns. The suspect has pleaded not guilty.

Arrest of Suspected Gilgo Beach Serial Killer
Last week, the 59-year-old suspect, who had remained unidentified for more than a decade, was arrested for the murder of three women whose bodies were found on Gilgo Beach in Long Island, New York, in 2010.
All four bodies were discovered within days of each other. Melissa Barthelemy’s body was found on December 11, 2010, during a police training exercise with a K9. Two days later, the bodies of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello were found in the area. The suspect has not been charged for Brainard-Barnes’ death but is considered the prime suspect.
The suspect was arrested on July 13 and, if convicted, faces multiple life sentences without parole.
