Chris Christie: Ultimatum to Mexican President on Drug Cartels

Former Gov. Chris Christie’s Bold⁣ Plan to ‍Tackle‍ Drug Cartels

In ‌a passionate speech⁢ to South Carolina ⁤voters, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie outlined‍ his plan to combat drug⁤ cartels in Mexico if‍ elected president. Christie’s proposal involves giving the president of Mexico 90 days to take action against the cartels.

“If‌ I’m elected president ⁢on⁢ my first day, I ‌will ⁤sign an executive order that ‌sends the⁢ National‍ Guard to the border,” Mr. Christie declared. “And their specific task will be the interdiction of fentanyl.”

Christie emphasized that fentanyl, a highly dangerous drug, is the leading cause of death for young men in America. He pledged to take a tough stance with the Mexican government and issued an ultimatum to Mexican President Andrés ‌Manuel López ‌Obrador.

“If you don’t clean it up⁢ in 90 days, I’m going to‌ avail‍ myself of the tools‌ that I have available as the president of the United States and the‍ Commander in Chief of ‍the greatest intelligence agency ⁣and the greatest⁣ army in the world,”⁢ Mr. Christie declared during a town hall meeting in ⁢Columbia, South Carolina, on ‌July 21. “We will take care of these criminals who are poisoning our children.”

Furthermore, Christie expressed his determination to address the issue of ⁤precursor chemicals supplied by China to the cartels ‌for fentanyl production.

“(The Chinese) ‍are sending chemicals to⁢ Mexico that they know will be used to create a ⁣drug that will kill American citizens.⁤ That’s an act of war, and it needs ⁣to be said just that way by a president of the United States who can⁣ stay awake,” ⁣Mr.‌ Christie asserted.

Christie made it clear that he believes neither⁢ party’s front-runner, including Mr. Biden, is capable of effectively leading the country.

Reflecting on his experience as ⁢a Republican⁢ governor working with a Democratic⁣ legislature, Christie highlighted the importance of collaboration and compromise.

“I inherited an $11 billion‍ deficit on‌ a‍ $29 billion budget in 2010. And we balanced that budget without raising taxes,” Mr. Christie shared. “The key was working with people I disagreed with.”

Despite facing opposition, Christie emphasized that progress can be achieved when the⁣ focus is⁢ on the ⁤work at hand.

The White⁢ House Race

Christie criticized both Mr. Biden ‍and Mr. Trump, asserting that they have let down the American people and would continue to do so if reelected.

He began by scrutinizing Mr. Biden’s record, highlighting issues ⁤such as the withdrawal of troops from‍ Afghanistan and the⁢ state of the economy under Biden’s leadership.

According to Christie, Mr. Biden considers former President Jimmy⁣ Carter as the best ‌president‌ of his lifetime.

Christie concluded by emphasizing the⁢ need for a leader who can ⁢effectively address the challenges facing the nation.
