Elon Musk swaps Twitter logo: ‘X’ replaces bird.
Elon Musk Teases New Logo for Twitter
Twitter owner Elon Musk has sent the platform’s users into a frenzy with a series of tweets teasing a new logo. In one tweet, Musk hinted at bidding farewell to the current Twitter brand and its iconic bird logo.
“And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” Musk wrote.
Shortly after, Musk shared a video featuring a flashing “X,” suggesting that it could be the new logo. He expressed his fondness for the letter X in a caption accompanying a photo of himself in front of a Tesla Model X backdrop. The Model X, Tesla’s electric sedan, was the second model introduced after Musk took over as CEO.
Musk’s space exploration company, SpaceX, also incorporates an “X” in its name. Established in 2002, SpaceX predates Musk’s involvement with Tesla and Twitter.
Interestingly, when Twitter was founded by Jack Dorsey in 2005, it did not have its well-known bird logo or blue branding. Instead, it was called “twttr” and featured green lettering. The bird logo was introduced in 2010.
Twitter Faces Challenges as Electric Vehicles Struggle in Heat Wave
While Musk continues to make waves with his Twitter logo teasers, electric vehicles are facing challenges amid a scorching heat wave in the US.

Despite this, Musk remains focused on his various ventures. In addition to Tesla and Twitter, he is also the driving force behind SpaceX.
Meanwhile, Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, has moved on to establish another social media platform called Bluesky. According to data analytics firm Sensor Tower, Bluesky saw a staggering 606% increase in mobile downloads in April, reaching a total of 628,000 downloads. In comparison, Twitter experienced a modest 2% growth rate with 14.9 million downloads during the same month.
During April, Musk made significant changes to the Twitter platform, including laying off several thousand employees and modifying the algorithm to only recommend verified accounts.
