Chevron names Eimear Bonner as new finance chief.
(Reuters) -U.S. oil major Chevron Corp on Sunday announced an exciting change in its leadership team. The company’s Chief Financial Officer Pierre Breber will retire next year, making way for a new successor. Chevron has named Eimear Bonner, the chief technology officer of Chevron Technical Center, as the next CFO. This decision reflects Chevron’s commitment to promoting internal talent and ensuring a smooth transition.
In another significant development, Chevron has waived the mandatory retirement age requirement for its Chief Executive Officer Mike Wirth. This decision showcases the company’s confidence in Wirth’s leadership abilities and his continued contributions to Chevron’s success.
Eimear Bonner, a dedicated professional with over 24 years of experience at Chevron, will report to the company’s CEO in her new role. Her appointment as CFO will commence on March 1, 2024, as per the company’s official statement.
Chevron also shared a preview of its impressive quarterly results. In the second quarter, Chevron posted adjusted earnings of $5.8 billion, equivalent to $3.08 per share. These results surpassed market expectations, which predicted earnings of $2.97 per share, according to REFINITIV data.
