Republican Montana‍ Rep. Matt Rosendale is urging Congress to remove ⁤the grizzly bear from the endangered species list following ‌a tragic incident ⁢near Yellowstone National Park. A woman was killed‍ by a grizzly bear, and Rosendale believes that such tragedies can be prevented.

Amie Adamson, 48, was tragically‌ mauled by ⁣a grizzly bear ⁤in southern Montana. ‌Her body⁤ was discovered ⁣on a⁢ hiking trail outside Yellowstone National Park. Tracks ⁣of a grizzly bear and at least ⁣one cub were found at the scene, and a trail camera captured‌ an image of ‌a grizzly bear with two cubs⁢ in the area. ⁣Efforts are underway to ⁣capture ‍the bear‌ responsible for the attack.

Grizzly bear sightings have‌ become more common in the area, and the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife ⁢and Parks states that the‍ species has ⁤recovered and increased in population. However, this has also led to a⁤ greater potential for conflicts⁣ with humans. At least nine people have been killed by grizzlies in ⁢and⁢ around Yellowstone since 2010.
