Tom Cotton accuses Hunter Biden and DOJ of being co-conspirators in strategic planning.
Sen. Tom Cotton: Hunter Biden and Justice Department Prosecutors Are “Co-Conspirators”
Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) strongly criticized the Justice Department’s revised plea deal offered to Hunter Biden, stating that it effectively granted him “blanket immunity.” According to Cotton, this makes Hunter Biden and the prosecutors not adversaries, but rather co-conspirators.
The original plea agreement, which unexpectedly collapsed, failed to guarantee Hunter Biden permanent immunity. As a result, the revised agreement was proposed but ultimately rejected by Judge Maryellen Noreika, leading Hunter Biden to plead not guilty to two tax charges.
Cotton, speaking to Fox Business host Larry Kudlow, emphasized that the immunity provision was the main reason behind the collapse of the original plea deal. He stated, ”When the Biden Department of Justice and Hunter Biden’s criminal defense attorneys sit down, those aren’t adversaries negotiating. Those are co-conspirators strategizing.”
Cotton believes that the Justice Department should allow their investigators to thoroughly pursue the facts and charge Hunter Biden with the crimes he has committed, ultimately taking the case to a jury trial.
