Video: Police Save Kids Trapped in Cage: Battling a Beast
Six Children Rescued from a House of Horrors in Las Vegas
Last month, a shocking incident unfolded in Las Vegas, where six children were rescued from what the media has dubbed a “house of horrors.” These children were found in an extended-stay hotel unit, some of them padlocked in a metal dog kennel, and all of them showing signs of abuse.
According to a doctor who treated one of the children, an 11-year-old boy, he was near death when he arrived at the hospital. The severity of the abuse shocked even the most experienced medical professionals.
The children’s father, Travis Doss, and their stepmother, Amanda Stamper, were arrested on June 11 after the police discovered the horrifying conditions in their apartment. Bodycam footage captured the moment when officers had to convince the terrified children to open the door.
Inside the unit, authorities found the six children, aged 11 and under, along with several dogs. Shockingly, two boys were crammed into a padlocked cage.
“WARNING: The following video and accompanying narrative contain scenes and descriptions that some may find disturbing.”
Doss has been indicted on numerous felony charges, including child abuse, kidnapping, sex trafficking, and living off the earnings of a prostitute. Stamper has also been indicted on multiple counts of felony child abuse, although she claims to be a victim herself.
Stamper revealed that Doss subjected her and the children to violent beatings and controlled her through fear. She explained that she had no control over him and was dealing with a monster.
Stamper testified that she and Doss had moved from Atlanta to Las Vegas in 2018, where he forced her into prostitution to support him. She also revealed that Doss threatened to take their child away if she ever tried to leave.
Stamper made the courageous decision to call 911, leading to the police’s intervention. She expressed her relief that everyone would finally be safe once Doss was incarcerated.
When asked why she didn’t call the police sooner, Stamper explained that she was scared for her life, her other children, and her family. She emphasized that it’s difficult for people to understand the fear and desperation of being trapped in such a situation.
The extent of the abuse inflicted on the children was revealed when Stamper admitted that they had countless marks on their bodies. Doss even made a chilling statement to the police, suggesting that one of the children in the kennel might already be dead.
This harrowing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and reporting any suspicions of child abuse. The authorities were able to rescue these children from a living nightmare, but it is crucial that we remain vigilant to protect vulnerable children from such horrors in the future.
