All those who benefit from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a form of assistance to pay for food, in Florida will receive their July payments on Friday. Decline in Inflation to 3% in June
According to a key gauge monitored by the Federal Reserve, inflation declined to 3% in June.
SNAP provides an average benefit payment of $180 per household member in the Sunshine State. Approximately 2.85 million people, which accounts for roughly 13% of the state’s population, receive assistance to pay for groceries.
Food stamps in Florida are distributed using a unique formula. The ninth and eighth digits of a person’s case number are combined to create a two-digit number, which determines the day when someone receives their benefits. For example, if a recipient’s ninth digit is 9 and their eighth digit is 8, the corresponding number for this formula would be 98.
The distribution of benefits is as follows:
- Case numbers with the combination 00-03 receive benefits on the 1st of the month.
- Case numbers with the combinations 04-06 through 93-95 receive benefits from the 2nd through the 27th of the month.
- Case numbers with the combinations 96-99 receive benefits on the 28th of the month.
