‘Sound Of Freedom’ expands to more screens in 4th week.
“Sound of Freedom” Continues to Soar at the Box Office
The hit film ”Sound of Freedom” has achieved yet another victory, surpassing the $100 million mark at the box office and securing additional screens in theaters across the country. This Jim Caviezel-led film, which sheds light on the horrors of human trafficking, has captivated audiences and continues to grow in popularity.
Angel Studios, the studio behind the popular faith-based television series “The Chosen,” announced that “Sound of Freedom” will be expanding its theatrical release for the fourth consecutive weekend. The film, which initially premiered in 2,634 theaters on July 4, will now be shown in 3,411 theaters as of July 28, crossing the impressive threshold of over 4,000 screens.
With its remarkable success, “Sound of Freedom” has generated over $130 million in box office revenue. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has earned $133,994,647 as of July 26.
But the impact of “Sound of Freedom” extends beyond the box office. This inspiring movie, based on a true story, follows the journey of Tim Ballard, portrayed by Jim Caviezel, a federal agent who risks everything to rescue a young girl from sex slavery in South America.

“Everyone in the industry knows that films are generally supposed to lose screens week-over-week, not add them,” said Brandon Purdie, Angel Studios Head of Theatrical. However, the incredible word-of-mouth surrounding “Sound of Freedom” has defied expectations, leading to the expansion of its theatrical release. The studio’s partners have shown tremendous support, allowing more people to experience the film’s powerful message.
Due to its global demand, “Sound of Freedom” will soon be released in theaters worldwide. Starting in August and continuing through October, the film will be shown in South Africa, Australia/New Zealand, Latin American countries, the U.K., and Ireland. Additional countries are being added weekly, as the film’s powerful message against child trafficking resonates across borders.
“Child trafficking is a global issue, and we hope to build on the incredible momentum here in the states and share the film’s powerful message worldwide,” stated Jared Geesey, Senior Vice President of Global Distribution for Angel Studios.
