Trump denies involvement in deletion of Mar-a-Lago security tapes.

Former President Trump Denies‌ Ordering Deletion of Mar-a-Lago Security Tapes

Former⁤ President Donald⁤ Trump has vehemently denied allegations that he ordered the deletion of security tapes at⁢ his Mar-a-Lago resort. Special counsel Jack Smith ⁢recently added three new charges to the federal indictment related to Trump’s⁣ handling of classified documents, but dropped the obstruction of justice charges on Thursday night.

“Mar-a-Lago security tapes were not deleted. They were voluntarily handed‍ over to the thugs, headed up by deranged Jack Smith. We did not even go to court to stop them from‍ getting these tapes. I never told anybody to delete them. Prosecutorial fiction & misconduct! Election interference!”

Smith’s new charges stem from allegations that⁢ Trump aide Walt Nauta and‍ Mar-a-Lago ⁢maintenance⁣ worker ‌Carlos De Oliveira attempted to delete ⁢security ‌footage that ‍investigators were seeking. ‌De Oliveira allegedly mentioned to another employee that “the boss” wanted the server ‌deleted, just two months before the FBI raid that ‌recovered classified documents from ⁣Trump’s storage room and other areas of the⁤ estate.

Trump ‍has stated that his team turned over the tapes ⁢to the Justice ‌Department and expressed confusion over the allegations. He⁤ is ‍expected to stand trial‍ for ‌the classified documents case in ⁤May 2024.⁣ Additionally,⁣ he faces a potential indictment from Smith’s second investigation into his⁢ actions during and after the 2020 election, as well as possible criminal charges from a Georgia special grand‌ jury investigation. ‍Furthermore, Trump is also facing ‌a state criminal‍ indictment in New York for ⁢hush-money payments during the 2016 campaign.
