Nancy Mace warns against impeaching Biden despite mounting evidence, risking moderate members.
Republican Lawmaker Warns of Potential Consequences of Impeaching President Biden
In a recent interview, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) emphasized the importance of a strong case before proceeding with the impeachment of President Joe Biden. Mace expressed concerns that such a move could result in Republicans losing control of the House.
Mace made these remarks during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream. When asked about the upcoming testimony from Devon Archer, a former friend and business associate of Hunter Biden, Mace dismissed the notion that Republicans were “overhyping” the situation.
“No, I don’t think so. This was a person who was in business with Hunter Biden and Biden family members. He was the BFF of the president’s son,” Mace explained. “He has a lot of information, which I believe we can fact check and corroborate with other witnesses and whistleblowers. We recently had two IRS whistleblowers admitting that their investigation has been blocked by federal agencies. Will Archer reveal whether Joe Biden was present during these discussions, either via conference call or in person, and to what extent he was involved? The American people have the right to know.”
Mace highlighted the overwhelming evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Biden family. However, due to confidentiality, not all of the evidence can be shared at this time.
“For example, we have over 170 suspicious activity reports pointing to money laundering, bribery, racketeering, and corruption,” she revealed. “Since we can’t release that information, we need to find bank records, witnesses, and other whistleblowers to prove our case. It’s crucial, regardless of political affiliation, to release all available information to the American people.”
When asked about the division among congressional Republicans regarding Biden’s potential impeachment, Mace distinguished between an impeachment inquiry and an impeachment vote.
“I will tell you, every time we walk the plank, we are putting moderate members, members who won in Biden-won districts, at risk for 2024,” Mace cautioned. “Impeachment is not the only issue that poses this risk; other topics like abortion also put these members in a vulnerable position.”
Mace concluded by emphasizing the importance of following the facts and avoiding the politicization of the impeachment process, as done by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“Whatever the evidence shows us, we must follow it. We need to be better than Nancy Pelosi,” Mace asserted. “We cannot afford to politicize this process. We must present overwhelming and undeniable evidence before moving forward. If we can’t, then we shouldn’t. But if we can, we must utilize every available tool to ensure the American people see the truth and hold everyone accountable.”
