‘Facebook Files’ 2.0: White House Pressured Facebook to Censor ‘True’ Content
White House Collusion with Silicon Valley Censors Revealed in “Facebook Files” Part 2
Published by Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan on Friday, part two of the “Facebook Files” exposes further evidence of collusion between the White House and Silicon Valley over coronavirus content censorship. Shockingly, requests were made to censor posts about Covid-19 vaccine side effects, even if the information shared was true.
The files clearly demonstrate that the Biden administration pressured Facebook to remove posts critical of vaccines, despite promoting them themselves.
Rep. Jordan took to Twitter to express his concerns, stating, “Part of that push included a public and SECRET campaign to get Facebook to more aggressively police vaccine-related content, including TRUE information.”
President Biden’s Controversial Statement
In July 2021, President Joe Biden made headlines by claiming that Facebook and other Big Tech platforms were “killing people” by not censoring vaccine-hesitant posts.
The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on the second batch of “Facebook Files,” which can be found here.
Internal records reveal that Facebook employees initially disagreed with the president’s accusations, finding the administration’s definition of misinformation “completely unclear.”
An employee, whose name is redacted in the public files, wrote, “It also just seems like when the vaccination campaign isn’t going as hoped, it’s convenient for them to blame us.” Another unnamed person in the email thread called the issue “frustrating” and stated, ”This seems like a political battle that’s not fully grounded in facts.”
However, the White House pressure campaign eventually convinced senior leadership at Facebook to reassess their Covid-19 censorship program. High-level discussions involving the company’s president of global affairs and then-Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg took place.
Records indicate that the administration even directed Facebook to censor ”humorous or satirical content that suggests the vaccine isn’t safe.” The White House also wanted negative information about vaccine side effects to be suppressed, regardless of its truthfulness.
Rep. Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, released part one of the “Facebook Files” on Thursday. These emails revealed that the White House demanded the social media giant crack down on clips from former Fox News prime-time anchor Tucker Carlson.

The Biden administration faced a temporary setback in their collusive efforts when a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction in Missouri v. Biden on July 4. However, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the administration’s request to temporarily stay the injunction, allowing censorship to continue while the case is being appealed.
