New details on Arizona teen missing for 4 years, now speaking up.
New Details Emerge About Alicia Navarro’s Mysterious Disappearance
Exciting new information has surfaced regarding the whereabouts of Arizona teen Alicia Navarro, who was considered missing for four long years.
Navarro had reportedly been seen with an unknown man numerous times in Havre, Montana, the town where she walked into a police station last week to remove herself from the missing person list.
According to Garrett Smith, a resident of the same apartment building as Navarro, he overheard her engaged in a heated argument with the man she was living with. Smith shared his account with the New York Post, stating, “I was here the other day and I heard them yelling. She did say, ‘I will go back.’ But that’s all I heard. It was the day before she turned herself in.”
While it remains a mystery how Navarro ended up in Montana, Smith revealed that she and a man in his 20s had been residing in the apartment complex for at least a year. Interestingly, Smith’s first encounter with Navarro occurred when she approached him near a post office, seemingly lost and in search of her uncle. This encounter took place just days before she made her way to the Havre police station.
Smith recalled the encounter, saying, “She was asking for directions. She looked scared. She didn’t appear to know the area.”
Navarro reportedly told authorities that she wanted to be removed from the missing person’s list so she could get a driver’s license and live a “normal life.”
Smith further added, “She said she was walking with her uncle and got lost and she’s looking for 6th Street. I later found out that she was referring to him as her uncle.”
Alicia Navarro’s mother, Jessica Nunez, reported her daughter missing after she vanished at the age of 14 on September 15, 2019. Nunez expressed concerns that Navarro may have been enticed away from home by someone she met online. Additionally, it was revealed that Navarro had been diagnosed as high-functioning on the autism spectrum.
The search for Navarro spanned the entire nation and involved the assistance of the FBI, who received countless tips throughout the years. Glendale, Arizona, police spokesman Jose Santiago shared during a press conference, “For more than four years, detectives here have followed up on THOUSANDS of leads.”
“This week, Alicia walked into a police department in a small town in Montana and identified herself. At that point, Federal partners, local police along with detectives here at Glendale Police began their investigation into this individual. Through our interviews, along with family members, we are confident that the now 18-year-old young lady is indeed Alicia Navarro.”
While the Glendale Police Department expressed gratitude for the newfound closure for Navarro’s family, they emphasized that the case is far from closed. The investigation into Navarro’s whereabouts over the past four years will continue, in collaboration with federal partners.
As we eagerly await further updates, let us respect Alicia Navarro’s privacy during this time. We are relieved to hear that she appears to be in good health and happy.
