Fulton County grand jury has three weeks to charge Donald Trump in investigation.

The Clock ⁤is⁤ Ticking: Fulton County Grand Jury Prepares to Release Charges‍ Against Trump

The anticipation is building⁤ as the three-week window for the‍ Fulton County grand jury to unveil criminal charges against former President Donald Trump has finally arrived. This highly awaited moment comes months‍ after‌ the jury concluded its ⁢investigation into alleged interference in Georgia’s 2020 election results.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has set her sights on a specific time frame, from ⁣July 31 to Aug. 18, to press‌ charges against⁢ Trump.‍ The grand jury’s ‌report, released in‌ February, revealed that “one or more” of the‌ over 50 witnesses interviewed may have⁤ committed perjury by lying under ⁤oath.

Indictments‍ and High-Profile Witnesses

Rumors swirl that ‌the grand jury has multiple indictments related to conspiracy or racketeering, with speculation mounting that Trump himself could be among the possible defendants. Notable ‌figures such⁢ as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani have also been mentioned as high-profile witnesses.

According to emails obtained by CBS News, Willis recently warned Fulton County commissioners to “stay alert”⁢ over the ⁢next month. She ‍had previously sent⁢ a letter‍ to judges in May, requesting‌ limited in-person hearings during ⁣the first two weeks of August. This aligns with ‌the time frame she provided ⁣to law enforcement, alerting them to potential instances of ‍violence or civil unrest following the announcement of the ⁤charges.

Trump’s⁢ Legal Battle

Trump is currently fighting potential grand jury charges on multiple fronts. However, his motion to dismiss the grand jury report was denied by Fulton County Superior Court Judge ⁢Robert‌ McBurney on ‌Monday. ⁢Nevertheless, the former president still has ‌another challenge pending, seeking to disqualify Willis and sideline McBurney from ‌overseeing the case.

With every ‍Fulton County judge recusing themselves from the challenge, former Cobb County ‍Senior⁣ Judge Stephen Schuster ‍has been appointed to make a decision. ⁤The‍ case is scheduled⁤ to be heard on Aug. 10, right in the middle of Willis’s designated time frame.

Stay tuned for further ⁣updates on this gripping legal saga.
