Chris Christie advises Trump to sell NY property for legal fees.
2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie suggests Trump sell Trump Tower to cover legal fees
Former New Jersey governor and current 2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie has suggested that former President Donald Trump sell one of his assets, specifically Trump Tower, to cover his mounting legal fees. This comes as Trump’s PAC, Save America, has reported spending over $21 million on legal expenses since the beginning of the year.
During an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Christie criticized Trump for using campaign donations, mostly from middle-class Americans, to pay for his legal fees instead of using his own personal wealth. Christie urged Trump to sell Trump Tower or one of his other valuable assets, such as his planes or golf courses, to cover these expenses.
Christie highlighted the staggering costs incurred by Trump’s PAC, including a reported $108,000 expense for Melania’s stylist, which was categorized as “political strategy consulting.” The super PAC has also requested a refund on a $60 million contribution made to the GOP front-runner.
It is worth noting that Christie’s criticism of Trump has intensified since he launched his own 2024 campaign earlier this year. His super PAC, Tell It Like It Is, has raised nearly $6 million since June.
Overall, Christie’s suggestion for Trump to sell Trump Tower in order to cover his legal fees adds another layer of intrigue to the ongoing financial challenges faced by the former president.
