Twitter Note: Biden Sunbathing at Beach, Not a Corpse
The Babylon Bee and “Community Notes” on X
The Babylon Bee is known for its satirical humor, but it seems that the authors of “Community Notes” on X, formerly Twitter, also have a knack for satire.
Recently, The Babylon Bee tweeted a satirical story titled “Police Investigating Corpse That Washed Up On Delaware Beach.” The tweet included a photo of President Joe Biden sunbathing shirtless with his eyes closed. To add to the humor, editors superimposed a fake “Police Line Do Not Cross” yellow barricade tape on the photo.
However, a proposed community note aimed to clarify the situation. “This is not a corpse,” the note stated.

Ashley St. Clair, a writer at The Babylon Bee, found the proposed community note hilarious and tweeted about it.

Typically, “Community Notes” provide context or correction, but in this case, the note’s author seemed to have a Babylon Bee-esque sense of humor. The full note further “explained” the Biden sunbathing photo.
“This is not a corpse. Although one can easily mistake the living body of J. Biden with a corpse having washed ashore, it is not a washed-up corpse — wrinkled and withered by saltwater, age, and fish feeding on dead flesh. It’s really J. Biden on vacationing while sunbathing,” the note read.
One user on X expressed their approval of the note, stating, “I love Community Notes. Even (especially?) the ones that get shot down. Whoever wrote this one, I salute you.”

Biden’s beach vacation photos have been a source of mockery, from his unflattering beach bod to his choice of Sketchers slip-on shoes.
While some may object to such humor, it has cathartic qualities. As Jewish writer-director Mel Brooks demonstrated with his movie “The Producers,” humor can disarm tyrants. And there’s no denying that Biden has exhibited tyrannical behavior during his presidency.
So, let the humor continue, and if the joyless souls complain, let them wallow in their misery while the rest of us find some much-needed laughter.
