Joe Biden criticizes the Hunter Biden investigation as an abuse of soft power, according to Archer.
Devon Archer: Joe Biden Knew About Son’s Business Partners
Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, recently gave his first interview since testifying before Congress. In the interview, he revealed that then-Vice President Joe Biden was aware of his son’s business partners and had attended multiple dinners and meetings with them. Archer also emphasized the value of the speakerphone calls between Joe Biden and his son’s business partners for their foreign business.
“In the rearview, it’s an abuse of soft power,” Archer told Tucker Carlson in an interview.
The Mixed Messages of Bidenomics
Archer’s public statements align with a summary of his testimony released by House Oversight Committee Republicans. He claimed that Joe Biden had participated in speakerphone calls during foreign business meetings approximately 20 times over a decade.
“To be completely clear on the calls, I don’t know if it was an orchestrated call-in or not, it certainly was powerful though,” Archer said. “Because, you know, if you’re sitting with a foreign businessperson and you hear the vice president’s voice, that’s probably prize enough. That’s pretty impactful.”
During the interview, Tucker Carlson revealed a letter written by then-Vice President Joe Biden to Archer in 2011. In the letter, Biden personally thanked Archer for his work with Hunter Biden and apologized for missing a luncheon because he was meeting with the president of China at the time.
“I think he was excited about the prospects for Hunter,” Archer said, referring to the letter.
Archer, who is facing a year in prison for an unrelated fraud case, admitted that he and Hunter Biden may have gotten “a little too close to the Sun” by engaging with foreign companies as lobbying clients while Joe Biden was in office. Both Archer and Hunter Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, and were involved in various other foreign deals before Archer’s arrest in 2016.
Democrats have defended President Joe Biden against Archer’s allegations by suggesting that Joe Biden may not have been aware that he was speaking to his son in the presence of business partners during those 20 occasions. However, Archer contradicted Joe Biden’s previous denials and the current Democratic messaging by stating that Joe Biden did, in fact, know about the business associates during certain dinners and meetings.
