Former Vice President Mike Pence’s Presidential Campaign Gaining Momentum
Former Vice President Mike Pence’s presidential campaign is making significant strides in its efforts to qualify for the Republican National Committee’s primary debate. Despite facing scrutiny for slower donor accumulation compared to lower-polling candidates, Pence’s campaign remains confident.
Building Donor Support
In an exclusive meeting with Pence’s top donors, the campaign provided an update on its progress towards reaching the required 40,000 unique donors for the Aug. 23 debate. The campaign assured high-dollar contributors that Pence has already amassed “well over 30,000 donors” and expects to qualify for the debate by the end of next week.
“We’re continuing to make progress every day. And we are very confident that we’re going to hit those numbers,” the campaign emphasized.
The campaign also addressed media scrutiny regarding donor accrual status, dismissing it as an obsession. It highlighted the campaign’s fundraising strength through direct mail and revealed plans to reactivate more than 140,000 donors associated with Pence’s organization, Advancing American Freedom.
Pence’s campaign acknowledged that building donor support takes time but celebrated its recent milestone of 2,000 individual donors in a single day. On average, the campaign is attracting over 1,000 new donors daily.
While digital media plays a role in fundraising, the campaign believes its direct mail grassroots donor base will remain strong.
Pence has already met the RNC’s debate criteria in terms of polling stature. However, the next RNC debate, scheduled for Sept. 27 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, will require candidates to have 50,000 unique donors.
As of now, former President Donald Trump, Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley have qualified for the first debate.
