Lizzo reacts to ‘outrageous’ lawsuit over harassment, body-shaming.
Pop singer and rapper Lizzo has responded to a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and a toxic work environment, and her response is making waves.
In the lawsuit, three former backup dancers — Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez — claim that Lizzo pressured them to engage with nude performers at an Amsterdam club in February. The suit targets Lizzo, her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., and Lizzo’s dance team captain, Shirlene Quigley.
Lizzo took to Instagram to address the allegations, calling them “outrageous” and stating that the former employees had already admitted their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.
However, the allegations don’t stop there. Lizzo is also accused of body-shaming a dancer for gaining weight, which contradicts the positive body image she promotes.
The plaintiffs’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, expressed his disappointment, saying, “The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are absolutely demoralizing.”
Lizzo responded to these claims on Instagram, emphasizing her commitment to respect and women’s empowerment. She stated, “There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. I know what it feels like to be body-shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight.”
Despite the controversy, Lizzo remains determined to stay true to herself. She expressed her disappointment in the recent events, saying, “My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized.”

According to The Daily Wire, Lizzo’s former creative director Quinn Whitney Wilson and dancer Courtney Hollinquest have expressed their support for the backup dancers who are suing the pop star.
Hollinquest wrote, “I’m not a part of the lawsuit – but this was very much my experience in my time there. I very much applaud the dancers’ courage to bring this to light.”
Wilson, who was Lizzo’s creative director, shared his own perspective, saying, “I haven’t been a part of that world for around three years, for a reason. I very much applaud the dancers’ courage to bring this to light, and I grieve parts of my own experience. I’d appreciate space to understand my feelings.”
