Lizzo reacts to ‘outrageous’ lawsuit over harassment, body-shaming.

Pop singer and rapper Lizzo has responded ‌to a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and a toxic work environment, and her response is making ⁢waves.

In ⁢the lawsuit, three former backup dancers — Arianna ‌Davis, Crystal Williams, and‌ Noelle ⁤Rodriguez — claim‌ that Lizzo pressured them to engage with⁣ nude performers at an Amsterdam club in February. The suit⁢ targets Lizzo, her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring,‌ Inc., and Lizzo’s⁤ dance team captain, Shirlene Quigley.

Lizzo took to ‍Instagram to⁤ address the ⁤allegations, calling them “outrageous” and stating that the‍ former employees had already‍ admitted ⁤their behavior on tour⁤ was inappropriate and unprofessional.

However, the⁣ allegations don’t stop there. Lizzo is also accused of body-shaming a dancer for gaining weight, which contradicts the positive body image⁣ she promotes.

The plaintiffs’⁢ attorney, Ron Zambrano, expressed his disappointment, saying, “The stunning‍ nature ⁢of how ‍Lizzo and‌ her management ‌team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo⁢ stands for publicly, while privately she ⁣weight-shames her dancers and demeans them⁤ in ways that are absolutely demoralizing.”

Lizzo responded‍ to these claims on Instagram, emphasizing her commitment to respect and women’s ‌empowerment. She⁢ stated, “There is nothing‍ I take more⁢ seriously than‌ the respect⁤ we deserve as women ‌in the world. I know what ⁢it feels like to be body-shamed on a‌ daily basis and would absolutely never ⁣criticize or terminate an employee because of their⁢ weight.”

Despite the controversy, Lizzo remains determined to stay true to herself. She expressed⁣ her disappointment in the recent events,⁤ saying, “My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have⁢ been questioned. My ‌character has been criticized.”

Wilson, who was Lizzo’s creative director, shared his own perspective, saying, “I⁣ haven’t been a part of that world for‍ around three years, for a reason. I‍ very much applaud the dancers’ courage to bring this to‍ light, and I ⁣grieve parts of‍ my own experience. I’d appreciate space to understand‍ my feelings.”
